Just wondering if anyone has used a home thermostat to control temps on a rack system?

a guy we got some balls and a rack off of had rigged one to do that with...and it's become my second fav. thermostat besides the ranko we have. i asked him how he did it, he said only use one that controls heat, not cooling...he's a wiz-kid with that though...
i'm considering buying a couple more and having him wire them up lol. they really do work amazingly well. |

Not on a rack system but for three heat pads yes. I think it works excellent. Its normally right around the correct temperature.

Ok then I need this question answered... How did you make it trip the heat source on and off? Did you have a contactor wired in to drop out power or is there no contactor with one that only controls heat? If he's willing I would love a quick rundown of what to do. I have 3 years of electrical so I'll understand the lingo I'm just having trouble figuring out the best way to do it.
